NWRA History
- Drawn to the spired mountains and intricate waterways of the Pacific Northwest, the three founders
incorporated NWRA in Washington State in 1984 as an organization from
which to ply their trade as research scientists in association with
colleagues of like mind and complementary talents.
- This goal was achieved in 1986 when NWRA bought the Northwest Division of Physical Dynamics,
Inc., a California corporation with whom the founders and all other
charter employees of NWRA previously had been employed.
- Since this time NWRA has expanded beyond the Pacific Northwest and has become
a 100% principal-investigator owned company; i.e., the same people
who carry out the scientific research-set the direction and
priorities for the company. NWRA has no full-time management staff.
- Visualogic, Inc.,
a wholly owned subsidiary of NWRA, was formed in 1988
to serve as a commercial outlet for software and services.
- Slicer Dicer, a visualization
tool for multi-dimensional data, was developed by Visualogic. The
laser inspection services formerly performed by Visualogic are now
being done by Laser Technologies
Company. Please contact info@laser-ndt.com
for more information.
- The Colorado Research Associates (CoRA) Division of NWRA, located in
Boulder Colorado, was established in 1997. The CoRA
staff specializes in basic and applied research in the atmospheric
sciences.
- The Nashua staff support NWRA activities under contract
with the Air Force Research Laboratory.
- The Tucson, Arizona, office of NWRA was established in 1999 to take advantage of the
scientific research, development technology and talent available in the region.
