The stratospheric Brewer-Dobson circulation (BDC) has become a topic of increased importance in climate science as we grow to better understand its role in natural climate variability, including tropical-polar coupling, and its potential role in the atmospheric response to increasing greenhouse gases. Yet many fundamental questions about the BDC remain and it is poorly constrained by observations. The purpose of this workshop is to re-examine the basis of our knowledge about the BDC, in terms of both theory and observations, and the mechanisms driving it, and consider the potential chemical and dynamical impacts of changes in the BDC from both natural variability and anthropogenically driven changes.

The workshop will consist of a mixture of invited and contributed talks, with ample time for discussion.

Abstract submission is now open. To submit an abstract click here. The abstract submission deadline is 15 March. Instructions for registration will follow shortly.
