Statistics fundamentals

Statistics fundamentals

For those interested, my home page now has some revised paragraphs
highlighting what's arguably the most fundamental problem of all
regarding "orthodox" statistical theory:

http://www.atm.damtp.cam.ac.uk/people/mem/#thinking-probabilistically

The problem is simply that the theory -- or at least its ultra-orthodox,
"hardcore frequentist" interpretation -- is incompatible with any
coherent account of what science is.

Sincerely, Michael McIntyre
