NWRA Welcomes Hamid Pahlavan, Postdoctoral Research Associate, Boulder Office

Hamid has been in the Boulder office as a long-term visitor from Rice University and has now joined NWRA as an employee as of January 16! He received a PhD in 2022 in Atmospheric Science from UW on “QBO Dynamics and Gravity Wave Characteristics as seen in ERA5 Reanalysis”. Hamid will be working on an NSF-funded project with Joan Alexander, focusing on Machine-Learning-based strategies for parameterization of gravity wave drag for climate models.
