Research interests: My research interests focus on the air-sea interactions and the ocean’s role in climate variations. Of special interest to me are air-sea exchange of heat and CO2, sea level rise, air-sea interactions at ocean fronts and mesoscale eddies, upper ocean heat and momentum balances, and atmosphere boundary layer dynamics. I have combined satellite and in-situ measurements and numerical modeling to address these topics in the Pacific and in the Southern Ocean.

Research interests: Jesse Witbrod is an undergraduate student of Astrophysics at the University of Colorado Boulder working under the direction of Kevin France and Juan Fontenla on modeling of the atmosphere and emitted radiation of M-dwarf host stars of exoplanets. For this work he uses the Solar-Stellar Radiation Physical Modeling system developed by Juan Fontenla and hosted on some of our servers, and observations gathered by the CASA team. The results of this work are very important to determine the habitability and likely atmospheric composition of the exoplanets atmospheres.
