Outreach: Jasna Pittman participated in the 8th Annual Climate Science Day on Capitol Hill
April 2017
Jasna reported there were 14 national societies represented and 25 earth scientists. The goal was to meet with Representatives and Senators from their residence states to: - talk in general terms about the work they are doing, - make themselves available as direct sources for climate science, and - ask the representatives to support undergoing or start climate initiatives in Congress (e.g., caucuses, floor speech). Jasna said, “We were not there to ask for funding, which apparently made this event very appealing on Capitol Hill!” Thank you, Jasna! |
