Visitor: NWRA Welcomes Stephanie Waterman to our Redmond Office
October 2016
Stephanie is visiting from the University of British Columbia, with Jonathan Lilly. Stephanie will present a seminar on Thursday, October 13th covering the geometric decomposition of eddy-mean flow feedbacks: A new framework to understand eddy effects based on properties of eddy geometry. Welcome Stephanie! |
Accolade: Jonathan Lilly produces major analysis tool, The Continuous Wavelet Transform
October 2016
As of last week, the de facto standard version of a major analysis tool used by scientists and engineers, the continuous wavelet transform, is now based on work done by Jonathan together with collaborator Sofia Olhede. You can read about Matlab's completely rewritten CWT routine in their 2016b release here: http://www.mathworks.com/help/wavelet/ref/cwt.html?searchHighlight=cwt However, if you don't want to pay $1000 for Matlab's wavelet toolbox for some reason, you can continue using Jonathan's version for $0. Congratulations Jonathan! |
