Joan Alexander, Alison Grimsdell, and Martina Bramberger are embarking on a multi-institutional NSF project that is the subject of a press release from Rice University. Alexander offers that this talented team of scientists from Rice, NWRA, NYU, and Stanford are using Loon-balloon measurements, high-resolution models, and machine learning tools to improve how climate and weather forecasting models account for unresolved atmospheric gravity waves. https://news.rice.edu/2020/10/... |
