Outreach
Outreach: Gloria Manney, NWRA Senior Scientist and her New Mexico Tech (NMT) graduate student, Zac Lawrence, participated in the annual NMT Science Olympiad Finals for high school and middle school students in New Mexico.
March 2016
Along with colleagues, Ken Minschwaner and Lisa Young, and NMT student Perianne Johnson, they constructed and administered the meteorology unit for the middle school finalists. The test covered many areas of meteorology/atmospheric science, including graphics problems and an activity problem. Gloria offered that, “It is quite astonishing how much they expect these kids to know, and very impressive how much some of them actually do!” Thank you, Gloria and Zac! |
