Research interests: The interaction of clouds and trace gases with infrared radiation, particularly in Polar regions. Black carbon and other light-absorbing impurities in snow in Antarctica and the Chilean Andes. Scanning electron microscopy of ice crystals. Molecular dynamics calculations of ice.
