Visitor: NWRA welcomes Dr. Arthur Guillaumin, Lecturer, Mathematical Data Science, Queen Mary University of London

Dr Guillaumin is our first J-Visa Visitor for 2024! He will collaborate with Cim & Jeffrey on improving statistical maps of sea-surface heights from satellite altimetry using a fast FFT-based method, developed by Arthur, for estimating covariance parameters in Gaussian Process Regression (aka optimal interpolation). NWRA Welcomes Michael Valencia Espinosa, Student Intern, Seattle Office

Michael joined NWRA on 16 July to support Jeremy & Natalia in analysis of data from recent Blue Origin rocket flights & prototype embedded systems for new balloon and/or rocket payloads. He leads the effort to analyze Blue Origin data from 2022 & 2023 rocket flights and is the main student involved in building the embedded sensor systems for these flights. Michael is completing his BS this Fall in Computer Engineering. Please welcome Michael! |
