Eric is a observational physical oceanographer specializing in internal waves and turbulence, including their interactions with and amplification by rough topography, such as seamounts, ridges, canyons, and the continental slope. Eric’s research interests span oceanic processes that contribute to mixing and stirring with particular attention to the interactions of meso- through microscale processes such as fronts, eddies, internal waves, potential vorticity-carrying finestructure, turbulence, double diffusion and surface forcing.
