NWRA Research Scientists Natalia Solorzano and Jeremy Thomas led a team of undergraduate students from DigPen Institute of Technology to design, build, and test a light weight and low-cost energetic particle sensor. The sensor was flown on Blue Origin's New Shepard Rocket in September 2022. The sensor performed well, but the payload didn't reach space altitudes due to an anomaly. The team is using data they collected to prepare for another flight. https://www.digipen.edu/showcase/news/digipen-computer-engineeringproject-inches-closer-space Thank you Natalia and Jeremy! |
NWRA Welcomes Daniel Neshyba Rowe, Student Intern, Seattle Office
January 2023
|
Daniel, an undergraduate at Lewis and Clark College double majoring in math and computer science, has joined NWRA to work with Cim, Pascale and Jeffrey on their NSF grant to study energy pathways in the ocean. Daniel will help add spectral particle interpolation methods to the wave-vortex model, as well as writing a kernel for the core computation outside of Matlab. Please welcome Daniel! |
