NWRA bids farewell to:
November 2024
Eric Kunze, Physical Oceanographer, Senior Research Scientist, Seattle Office Eric will retire this 31 December after a successful and fruitful 40 years with ~100 peer-reviewed journal papers on oceanic phenomena that contribute to mixing and stirring in the ocean with particular attention to the interactions of meso- to microscale processes such as fronts, eddies, internal waves, potential-vorticity-carrying fine structure, turbulence, double diffusion and surface forcing. Eric joined NWRA in 2014 after having hung his hat at WHOI, UW, Univ Victoria (as the Canada Research Chair in Physical Oceanography) and then (again) at UW. He received his PhD in 1985 from UW.
