Accolades and Service
Service: Gloria Manney was the co-lead of the SPARC Emerging Activity "Observed Composition Trends and Variability in the Upper Troposphere / Lower Stratosphere (OCTAV-UTLS)."
January 2017
OCTAV-UTLS is a new SPARC activity that will assess our ability to detect and quantify global and regional composition trends in the upper troposphere/lower stratosphere (UTLS) from current observational datasets from many platforms (satellite, balloon, aircraft, lidar,...), and make recommendations for future measurement needs. Thank you Gloria! |
Gloria Manney co-leads and NWRA co-sponsors 2016 SPARC Workshop
November 2016
Joint workshops of S-RIP (SPARC Reanalysis Intercomparison Project) and SPARC-DA (SPARC Data Assimilation) were held in Victoria, BC, Canada this past October. Both S-RIP and SPARC-DA are SPARC (Stratosphere-Troposphere Processes and Their Role in Climate) projects. Gloria is a co-lead of S-RIP and NWRA was a co-sponsor of this 2016 Joint Workshop. Sponsors, along with NWRA, included Environ & Climate Change Canada, University of Oxford, NERC, Royal Belgian Inst for Space Aeronomy, WCRP. Thanks for your leadership, Gloria! |
